It is a die chip. Note how irregular it is . The mark above it is just a coin contact mark.

What threw me was the dark area between the hit and the raised metal that seems to match up between both shapes. Kinda like the metal was gouged out then pushed to the edge of the device. Maybe just a result from the lighting during picture taking.
