All I can say is drool! Being a collector of nickels, this piece is no less than amazing! If it was a 1994, I would go completely stupid over it as far as how much I would pay for it. $500 sounds very reasonable for this piece, it is beautiful and would be a nice show and tell piece for any nickel collector. Would be a focal piece to any design for portraying a collection! Keep your piece as it is special to you ;)

You'd need a strong nail to hang this on the wall.

I wonder if that's why the obverse ofLoey's giant 5 cent medallion is blank? Does that somehow skirt the legalities

The image of the 5 cent design itself is copyright protected by the RCM. This one-off promo piece is probably okay to own though - presumably it was sanctioned by the mint at the time it was made.

Beautiful item!

Your creativity reflects my opinion. If this were my piece and I decided it was time to part with it, the ideal option would be public display as Rockfish suggests as well. If it wasn't outrightly purchased, a tax receipt for the value of the donation is a common arrangement.

Had some thoughts overnight on this piece or coin, either Inco had permission to create it or went rogue, if it was the first scenario what is the chance due to the high quality, that the RCM did make this piece for Inco, that would even make it much cooler!

Another thought, how did you get this piece? and if you can prove it's a RCM production this will vastly increase it's value, good luck!

Hi All, Here are a couple of more pictures to give you all a better idea of just how large this coin is.

What a pretty little girl you have. She should get that big nickel. That would be worth more than all the money it would ever fetch.

Sorry Darryl, but I do appreciate your feedback. My previous pics did not sure the thickness of the coin and someone asked me to have it with someone in it to give people a better idea of just how large it is.
