What if someone wins and auction but if you look at their feedback you don't have a good feeling about the deal?

Once they win, it is too late. Refusing to sell will quickly get ebay on your case, so to speak.

I've had that happen a few times and no problems ever surfaced. That said always use due diligence in following ebay's and Paypal shipping guidelines and pack your items well. I'd limit sales to sub-$250 items but that's totally your call of course.

Ohh my coins aren't worth that much at all.... More like a buck or two here and there..... I've heard others say that 1 out of 100 or so claims they don't receive their package or tries some scheme.... so hopefully all will be good!

I don't know how it works with Canadian mail, but I always ship with tracking. I say this in all my listings, and I build it into my price. (All my listings have free shipping.)

As for combining shipping on multiple wins, instruct the winner to wait for an invoice, instead of paying for all the won listings. If they pay for everything, you may have to try to work out a partial refund, which is something I've never had to do.

Canadian Mail to the US can take a while in some cases.

While I received the coin I purchased from AgCoinAu rather quickly, I am still waiting on another coin I bought on the same day from a different seller from Canada.

Mail in Canada is bloody expensive compared to U.S.....

Another person that I have met off of this site wants me to ship them some rolls because I live right next to the mint.... it would cost just over $17 to ship one roll of each denomination.... (.05, .10, .25, .50, 1.00 & 2.00 rolls) So instead I'm just holding onto the rolls for the person... perhaps collect 2-3 years for them... I coach on the side and one great thing is that we sometimes travel for tournaments... .if in 2-3 years I haven't traveled to their location I'll ship it... just to save on shipping!!)

Ohh and for even a letter sized "tracking" it cost $12... Moncollector's coin sold for $1... who's going to pay $12 shipping for a $1 coin... conversely if I sold items that were only going to sell for one dollar but paid $12 for the shipping I'd lose money fast... Guess I'm just going to hope that I deal with a lot of good people.... so far.. the one transaction I've had was very positive and I'm going to keep on.... (probably give a lil gift as well to each new buyer ... that seemed to go over well!)

It's pretty pointless to use tracking on your kind of stuff as you'll just lose a lot of money...

Best thing to do is make your own TERMS and CONDITIONS which are over and above eBays and put them on every listing. Also, make it clear that you're not responsible for your items once they've left your home (or you can do as I do and offer a 50% refund if it does get lost by the USPS).

It's a whole lot better than dealing with the stupid CLAIMS crap. I've had no problems since I started putting my own Ts and Cs on my items six months ago - other than one who was impatient and filed a claim on me 8 days (and actually 7 days since there was a Federal holiday in there) after they bought the item. Before I put my terms in, I was having issues with around one in every 100 buyers.

So ... to continue on this journey.... what an exciting night!! Some people got some GREAT DEALS in my opinion, and it was fun to see the bids starting to come in and things were getting sold.

This morning When I looked I had a total of 24 listings with only 5 that had the minimum bid on them. I'm not going to lie I was using my wife's smart phone to check up on the auction all day today, as we took the kids out to the museum and then it was to my parents for dinner with "grandma and grumps"...

At the end of the day 20 of the listings sold and some even had multiple bidders.

I know MontCollector was one of the winners... if there is anyone else that won an item following this thread please send me a note on ebay I'll make sure you get a little extra "thank you" in your package!

There was some previous people that posted they hadn't tried ebay yet.... My only advice is just give it a go! Today was really fun and beat the pants off of the bad day I had yesterday http://goccf.com/t/187379&whichpage=4) a link to explain...

One person gave the advice that with more listings you may get more traffic as people will often be attracted to one item then look to see what other items you may have for sale... Taking this advice I think I'm going to spend any spare time I have writing up some listings and taking photos (never knew what an arduous task that was!) and hopefully by May 7th will try and put up 100 listings !

This was FUN! Thank you everyone for your input, feedback and support, it has really made this a positive experience!

John77,
What terms and conditions would you suggest or what do you use and why ?

Okay my next question on this quest... how and when does ebay take their fees... This past sunday all the people that won their auctions have already paid... and I will be shipping off all the materials later on tonight. But I want to know how to pay ebay, and how much I owe them..

ebay sends out bills. Look for it in your ebay messages.
