ebay order cancellation request - but because it involves specifics on a Buffalo nickel I thought it would be best to post it here in Classic Coins....

I sold a 1914-P Buffalo nickel and the guy wants to cancel the sale. Here's the email trail:

Him: can I cancel this order
Me: I guess so, but why?
Him: I thought it was type 2
Me: ? It IS a type 2. Starting in 1914 (the date of the coin you won) they were ALL type 2s. Only 1913 had the type 1.
Him: sorry I meant type 1, didn't check message before I sent it.
Me: Just so I'm clear, you wanted a 1913 type 1 (because that's the ONLY year that had the type 1) and that's what you thought you were bidding on when you bid on this 1914 nickel...?

The only good thing is that that the order got cancelled before it shipped and you didn't have to deal with a return.

That's not fair but what can you do?
A couple of weeks ago I sold a coin ,shipped it the following day, Three days after the sale buyer requests to return the coin!
Reason for return ? he says : I just don't like it!
Now here is the kicker the coin is still in transit and the buyer hasn't even gotten it yet!
Rest in Peace

Any dealing with people will always show a few with problems.

I've found coin and token folks to be a lot better, on average, than local retail.

Put in your listings "changed mind is a perfectly valid reason to return". Then you won't get any of these nonsense stories.
