Can someone tell me whether Verdicare is safe with all plastics? I am wanting to soak a couple Indian cents and thought I'd use a half dollar tube so I can seal and leave to soak a couple days. I know it comes in a plastic bottle, but thought I'd better be safe than sorry should it react to a certain type of plastic.

Why not use a glass tube? Some cigars come in a glass tube. John1

I would use glass only. A baby jar, a pickle jar, or any glass jar with a good lid. Acetone evaporates fast in open air.

I had a half dollar tube that could hold a couple stacked Indian cents immersed in Verdicare without using much. I wasn't going to use Acetone which I know wouldn't be advised. Don't have a glass cigar tube nor did I want something as big as a baby jar, etc...

I keep a shot glass handy, as the coin is touched only by the rim.

Good 'shot glass' idea.
Might just mix a couple coins with some Verdicare in a shot glass, sprinkle a little salt on my hand, take a big bite of lime and toss the Verdicare & Indians over my shoulder like Chevy Chase does in Caddyshack.
Thanks for the input.

If you're going to the extent of using Verdi-Care, at least avoid coin-to-coin contact. When I use it, I work on the towel that came with the solution or a microfiber glass cleaning cloth one coin at a time and leave them in the doubled-over towel to dry for at least 24 hours. As far as the plastics compatibility question, I haven't tested it. I assume that since acetone is not safe for all plastics and will remove Verdi-Care, that Verdi-Care is safe with plastics. I don't believe it is a solvent but, I'm not a chemist. I'm sure BadThad could answer this.
