I know that some folks consider the new coinage to be Modern junk, but can a series Like the Lincoln Cent or Roosevelt dime be complete without them ?

They are also IMHO a great way to fill time between the pursuit of the classics !!!

I try and try, just can't do it. Not that the are junk they just don't do anything for me. Proof sets and mint set I can handle though. I like new forign sets too.

I do not consider the moderns junk. Those that do is their sad loss. I will continue to collect the silver & regular proofs, the 4-coin gold proofs and the commens that attract me every year. So if others don't want them, fine, it'll be easier for me to buy as close to issue price when I'm ready to buy. O yea, I also collect high end ASE, preferrably in MS70, in a slab.

I don't consider any coin "junk", as long as you are buying them for the sake of collecting. My issues with modern coins lie with the lackluster designs. Notwithstanding the "overhyping" of some.

While I don't particularly like the modern designs, that certainly doesn't make them junk. The only important thing about a coin and its design is that it appeals to a collector. It's interesting how varied all of our interests are.

There are some NO "S" and NO "P" junk that I would love to own, so if anyone has a few that they don't want cluttering up their "real" coins, please drop me a line
