Here is a nice example of a coin with an effect that is sometimes referred to as "circulated cameo" due to the light and dark toning contrast. Unfortunately, it has a few hairlines across the cheek and wingtips but at least the grade is low enough that they are not too distracting.

I'll give it a firm F-12. All of the letters of Liberty are weak but visible.

That's pretty much the perfect version of a F12 coin. I can imagine a super conservative service putting it in a VG10 holder though.

I hadn't heard the term "circulated cameo" before but I've certainly seen examples that would qualify for that description. Thanks for sharing!

I too think it would grade F-12. "LIBERTY" is a bit marginal for that grade, but the rims are solid and detail everywhere else is very strong. The eye appeal is exceptional and the hairlines and small digs by Miss Liberty's ear should be acceptable at the Fine level.
