Hello members. I want to get your opinion on two things. One is a grade for the coin. The second is what to do with unusually dark patina (probably dirt). Should I consider Verdi-care. I never cleaned a coin before. Thanks for all your opinion & advice. Pictures are not that good. I don't have a camera setup yet. Used my cell phone.

Looks like a strong VF35. Might make XF40. It has nice original color.
Verdi-care is for verdigris forming on copper coins. You can use 100% acetone to bathe the coin in for a few minutes to remove surface residue. Especially as the coin appears to have spent some time in an old 2x2 with pvc that may be breaking down on both surfaces. That shouldn't harm the coin. There are threads on this forum about how to properly give coins an acetone bath. Make sure you are careful handling the coin and drying it properly before storing it. Good luck!

Please, leave the patina. It is how 192 year old silver surfaces should look. I put it at VF-35. Nice coin! As mentioned above, acetone only for the green tinting from PVC.

VF-30. A nice coin, leave it alone in terms of toning - highly likely it will look worse if you do.

Thank you kindly for all your replies.
About cleaning a coin, I never cleaned one and don't believe in cleaning a coin. But I read in this form about Veri-care and how wonderful results it can achieve. I read the threads again and realized that all coins were copper found buried in ground.
I will definitely leave it as is.

VF-30. To make VF-35, you need to have a strong debate as to whether or not it's an EF-40. I'm not having that debate. The obverse falls well short of EF.
As for messing with it to remove dirt, I won't.
