I came across this ebay auction for, what the seller claims, is an authentic 1943 copper Lincoln Cent. He says he found it in a pile of salvage coins and was offering it for only $5,000. I was thinking of bidding on it and submitting it to NGC, but was a bit concerned that it might, just might, get a "Details" grade. No one bought it (Surprise!) but here's the link if you have five grand sitting around burning a hole in your pocket: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ultra-Rare-...p=true&rt=ncPaul Bulgerin

How can you tell it's even a 1943?

I saw this one as well. Pretty sure it's a '48. Really ticks me off how they say: "thought I'd take a chance at selling" "All sales are final" "I'm being as honest as possible" Sure, they have every right to list whatever they want, but I have every right to disapprove of their methods.

Wow...just wow! I have never sold on ebay before but I would think it would cost money just to list the coin? Why do so many people bother with this kind of garbage?

Maybe it would have sold if listed for $4,500.
