William Flynn New Member United States 41 Posts	Posted 04/09/2017 12:17 am Good Evening All. I was going through some Kennedy half dollars I had purchased. There were 96 in an album in the cardboard holders stapled closed.I saw a video of the Transitional error an decided to open the 1971-D and 1972-D coins out of 15 I found this 1971-D and a 1972-D I will only post the photos of the 1971-D in this thread and will post the 1972-D in another thread not to confuse. cwb Pillar of the Community United States 3463 Posts	Posted 04/09/2017 11:01 am 1971 half dollar weight is 11.34g while a 40% Silver half is 11.5g. Yours is plated. You can tell by the finish and the weight is within tolerance for a clad half. Report this Post to the Staff
