I was sorting some of my copper horde tonight and picked up a 69 D as I moved it to the 60s pile for a look. I Had a floater! After sorting I looked at all 1969-D's and of the 53 I had 5 were full floating, 23 were missing the left wall and some of the right. Below are one of each.

Full Float:

Thanks for looking.

Result of die polishing. Very common for this year.

In my past research on these found that the majority presented to have been produced in 1969 and 1970. Thanks, Doug.

One of my favorite Over-Polished Die errors, the Floating Roof. It's best when the supports are completely gone on both sides.

The die is over polished and often you can see the 'FG' removed and sometimes the statue. On the Obverse we often see the missing neck and back of neck. Just evidence of a die that was showing abrasion during polishing. After this happens there are hundreds of thousands of cents still struck with this worked over dies.

I agree this was probably true in some of the common years this error has been found. When you consider that usually the die receives a clash, and later gets polished - several times in it's career until finally both supports are completely gone, the die is near the end of it's life. This makes some years much rarer than others. The 1989 cent with no designer initials is a good example. Over-Polished Die errors will never have the same status as Doubled Dies and such, but are enjoyed by many. Here's one I like a lot, it's not famous like the Floating Roof, but I like it. It gives Jefferson's head the appearance of being detached.
