Picked up for 25 cents at the LCS. Still exchangeable for euros at the Bundesbank. https://www.bundesbank.de/Redaktion...m_euro+86122

Boobies reasonably pretty
Bank Deutscher Lander notes from so long ago relatively difficult to obtain these days.

Notes from the Deutsche Demokratische Republik, or East Germany, are even harder to obtain!

East German banknotes have flooded the market recently, the harder one is the 1000 Deutsche Mark of 1948.

Fünf is my favorite German word. Aside from whatever is German for uh... boobies.

Thanks for showing us this gnarly note.

I don't know, but maybe that is from which the English slang word
'bristols' is derived.

New meaning to the phrase 'shipshape and Bristol fashion', it seems!

We'd better stop, before the thread degenerates completely.

For for 25 Cents, I would have picked it up myself, even in the condition it is.

That is despite the fact that I really don't collect World notes, and it isn't worth any practical face value, because I do not live in Germany.

It just happens to be interesting enough at that price.

You could put that on ebay for 50 cents to open and watch the bidding ! Turning 25 cents into 50 cents is always good.
