Today I picked up my first Claudius, as well as my first Roman As. I didn't collect bronze coins for my first two years as an ancient collector, and as a result I was left with a large silver collection, and nothing to show in bronze. I am trying to remedy that lately, and have been buying quite a few bronzes. He is my 5th of the 12 Caesars collection I'm trying to put together. I already have a Julius Caesar portrait denarius which was the real challenge...The rest should be relatively easy (except for Caligula, he is always a challenge to find).

Anyway,enjoy!

Very nice example for your first As. BTW I would be glad to trade you all my bronzes for your silver coins.

This type was the first Roman coin I purchased. That was back in 1985. I love Claudius' bust on this coin with the long tapered neck. It's what a Roman bronze should look like!

Congratulations on your purchase.

I'm Greg, and new to the board. I never properly introduced myself to the board, but I would like to do so when I can post my first ancient, which I recently received. And I started collecting Roman coins this year. I recently obtained a Vespasian bronze. I've been wanting to start collecting ancients 30 years ago, and it took me this long to start with ancients, believe it or not. Better late then never, huh? I should have started back then, and not I regret it. I'm trying to learn how to take proper photos, and to post, as I wish I could show mine.

@Rasoleil, welcome to the board. If you buy coins on-line, save the seller's photo and you can just show us that. We want to see your coins and read your comments on them!
