How are the three Liberty coins from 1916 that were minted in gold as commemoratives doing these days? It seems to me the Mercury dime was the only coin that was a big hit because it was affordable to vast majority of collectors. I got all three. I don't regret the expense but I will have to wait 20 years to sell at a profit I think.

Check the "Sold" listings on ebay - that will give you a quick but accurate sense of the market.

I looked at the "Sold" listing for the 1916 commemorative coins and the Mercury dimes seem to be doing best but all the ones that are certified as being MS69 or MS70 seem to be doing best, but I would not buy one. However, I bet if you wait ten years those coins will appreciate. The LSQ's and WLH's have to sell out first. If they don't sell out soon the Mint should melt the remainder. How can you tell how many are left to sell from the Mint?

So, I would certainly expect the value to rise based on the track record of market performance of gold. Could be wrong tho - it's possible gold could tank in the next decade.

I ended up with 3 dimes, one being an SP70. I really had to scrape to purchase the Standing and the Walker but just had to have them. The secondary market prices on all three of these coins are still fairly high and I believe that anyone that wanted any of these and could afford it already has them, so in the very near future I would Imagine the secondary market prices may drop a little but who know's from there? I see me passing these down unless they go to the moon......they won't.

Taphandle! I bought one of each and just keep them OGP. I do not plan on ever selling them. Good to hear they are 90% sold.

Depending on how long the quarter and half are available, I may try to pick one of each up. Not going to lose any sleep over it if I don't, though.

I saw them at one of the shows in the mint case and in news stories and have to say I wasn't impressed. They are too small and the dies don't have the finer details (there is no excuse for not being FSB for example).
So I passed...
