Here is a "Mint" set from the collection given to me from my Grandmother. Did a search and couldn't find anything as far as the case used. Definitely not from the US Mint, but cool none the less...

These holders were sold in coin shops etc. and the coins were put in there by an individual. Not a mint product.
They can make pretty nice toned coins over time with the cardboard causing the toning.
I have a pair, one white and a black colored cardboard set, each with 1964 coins it as well that I sent to auction. I hope they get at least 18 or 22 bucks in my case.

I'd love to have the story behind where my "set" was purchased, but unfortunately, while my grandmother is still alive, her dementia prevents getting any useful information. I do know she was once worked at a bank in the 60s - early 80s. What I have from her most likely was gleaned as the coins passed through her hands. This includes 14 1964 Kennedy halves labeled in a roll as 'uncirculated'. I'll get a couple posted up, they are quite shiny!

Handle and house your coins properly and with care. You have a great sentimental connection to them regardless of condition, but you don't want to add the thought that you wish you would have taken better care of them later on.

scsaxe and Toot!

Love heirloom coins held on to and then pasted down to the next generations. Thank you for sharing!

Nice book ends Toot!
