A stack of 20 Peso coins came into the coin shop this week. They were nice enough to let me trade my 1959 for a older date. I really liked this 1921

20 peso gold are one of my favorite, low premium gold coins out there. The Aztec sun calendar reverse is worth a close up look. Awesome coin. That's one heck of a trade you got...a stunning coin with nearly 100 years of character for a restrike. Thanks for sharing.

Man you are lucky! Letting you trade for a 1921 like that. Nice coin!

Thanks all.
For me 1921 is one of those special years for coins. There seems to be many good collectable coins for 1921 ... not just U.S. Coins.

GR58 I suggest you get a powerful magnifier and check your coin carefully. It is most likely a 1921/11 overdate. Take a high resolution scan and post it so we can all check it out.

I will do that ... still having morning coffee right now. Hope I can find a example online .. of the overdate. Is there a premium for the overdate?

I have tried a couple times to get a good picture .. this is the best I can get .. I am leaning towards the overdate.

That is the overdate. It does not carry a premium as far as I know. Every 1921 in my collection is the overdate so it cannot be scarce. Perhaps the premium would go to the non overdate?

Thanks jfransch ....
This coin fills a hole in my type set ... Knowing it is a overdate makes it more interesting.

What happened to the rest of the "stack"?

The shop sold the rest of the stack.
They keep a list. Customers will asked to be put on a list, to be called when certain coins come in. Gold coins are very popular, they don't stay in the shop long.
