i received this note not too long ago from a relatives estate. I havent been able to find any information about it, besides the new york mint and 1990 plate markings. it roughly measures 13 1/8 inches by 5.5 inches. any information would be appreciated, thank you https://www.coincommunity.com/go/link.asp?target https://www.ebay.com/itm/-/017050801357 target _blank rel nofollow 017050801357 /a _opt.jpg" border="0" style='cursor:default' onClick='doimage(this, event)'>

It's a series 1990 $100. Nothing special about it. Spend it.

Wait, wait. This is not even close to the correct size for a small size note. Some sort of blown-up fake.

I don't know if Spencers Gifts mall stores still exist but about 15 years ago I ended up with this one, the same size as yours in $500. It looks surprisingly real except for the size of course. I vaguely remember seeing them at the mall.

my first thought was it had to be fake. iv seen giant novelty bills. but this is marked legal tender, its aged and feels real witch is why I questioned it. all the novelty bills ive seen are stamped copy or with some statement declaring it novelty. isn't there laws about that? so I wonder if maybe its from a display of some sort

Hands down, it's about the most obvious fake I've ever seen.
Why would anyone even think this was real ? What am I missing here ?
Did I read someone say "spend it" ?

I think our friend @imtehealphaomega replied quickly without reading the measurements in the OP.

Yea I jumped the gun. I didn't look at the measurements. Obviously a fake at second glance.

Wow! Looks bigger than large size currency!

The note is longer than, and almost as wide as a piece of copy paper......that's how big it is. That would make it a MASSIVE RED FLAG. It looks at least four times the size of circulating currency and three times the size of large size currency.
Stevie Wonder would know it was fake.

This is a Horseblanket... on steroids! I kinda like it! What are you going to do with it? Maybe try to cash it in for $400 since it is 4x as big as a normal note? That's big enough that maybe someone was messing around with a plotter at work, although I don't know if a plotter could print something with that much detail. Though obviously a fake, the details aren't *that* bad from the photos supplied.

What I noticed immediately was that there are no colored fibers like real notes.
