AU-50 or 53 sharpness, likely a details coin.

Quote: likely a details coin @CF, is that because of the black spots on the obv or something else? I'm just trying to learn.

Right. Verdi-care would probably help but there would likely still be a discoloration. As nice a grade as it is, the coin is too common to merit professional restoration.

I do not think this coin grades better than his 1919 . I'm still at EF-45 . I also don't believe those black spots warrant a details grade , don't forget ; he's not sending it in . however the cut on Lincolns chin is not sitting right with me .

Nice apparent luster and no clear wear on cheekbones as on the 1919, nice strong ear, thus my AU grade. Chin cut less offensive to me than corrosion spots, which (to my eye) are embedded enough to leave something equally distracting if removal is attempted. Not that I wouldn't try!

EF-45 details, cleaned
The wheat grains are almost flat, keeps it from AU.
