Starting in this forum but feel free to move if it's the wrong one.

I found several coins in a box of world coins that my late in-laws collected in the 1940s-1990s. I was able to identify most of the Chinese cash coins as from the Ch'ing Dynasty thanks to the "Boo" character on the reverse.

But I can't ID this one. Can you help?

Shun Zhi Tong Bao. Early Qing Dynasty.

Unfortunately, I do not believe it is genuine. It could just be heavily cleaned, but the style looks off.

Ugh. So counterfeits were around during the 1940s-90s, huh?

I'm leaning toward genuine, but heavily worn and then aggressively cleaned. The sand texture in the fields looks genuine to me, but any original patina has been stripped away; Probably soaked in vinegar to sell to a tourist. Regardless, they are very common and only worth a couple bucks.
