I was thinking about sending these coins in for TPG grading, but I sure would appreciate CCF collector opinions.

I'm not a collector of this series, but I'll try it.

The 1921 - VF-20
The 1941/2 - EF-40

Nice coins.

Nice Mercs!

I'd grade the 1921 VG-10, and the 1942/1 VF-30.

Opinion: Getting the 42/41 graded by a top-tier TPG is a good idea, especially if you are planning to sell it. Based on the market value vs. the cost of grading, I would probably not send in the 21.

Hey Cuprous,
Your 1921 has a F15 obverse and a VG10 reverse IMO. You need half or more of the vertical lines in the reverse fasces to be clear to make F-12, according the PCGS grading guide.

The 1942/1 is a solid EF-40 and I agree with Bilbo that it would be worth having it graded, especially if I were interested in selling. I would try PCGS first.

Nice dimes!

I'm not big on Mercury dimes, but I really like the look of the 1942/1. Yours is a good looking example.

21 is a VG and the 42/1 is a VF. I like the 42/1, can I have it? :P

1921....from the pics, wear on the rim (aparently....maybe just the pic) and fasces realy hurt this one. If the reverse better matched the front, I'd say in the F range, but have to agree with the majority overall VG.

Now for the 42/1......drool salivate gimee gimee! Obverse I'd give a high EF...the reverse looks slightly better than the front to me, with the exception of the weak E ending the one in "one dime" EF 40 looks good, better yet, send it to ME! It's the last one I need for my albumn!

OHHHH YEAHHHH....

I'd love to see BIGGER pics....that way I won't get drool on my monitor!
