I am sure we have all pocket dialed someone by accident! Well today I apparently pocket purchased a coin on ebay!

I received an alert that a coin I was watching was sold. I went on ebay (at work too!) to look at it when someone stepped into my office. I put the phone in my pocket and left my office. When I returned and took my phone out, I had an alert that I had committed to buy an 1907 large cent in VF condition for $5.10 plus shipping! It wasn't even the coin I was watching so it must have been listed as a similar item.

I requested a cancelled order and explained to the seller what had happened and the transaction was cancelled. So thanks to 'maritimemedals' for understanding the situation. I would have paid up if needed. Just glad it wasn't several hundred dollars or more.

Lesson learned...

Please share if you have done the same...

If I had a cell phone, I'd have used that excuse when explaining the package she found in the mailbox.
I have however recently won a "make an offer" by re-list. I wasn't too happy that the listing expired and they relisted it automatically and accepted my offer on the earlier lot. I didn't think that could happen.
Good thing I couldn't find and buy the same thing cheaper elsewhere in the meantime. I was looking when I noticed I had an email telling me to pay. Fortunately it was a good deal.

Really? A pocket dial? I've had my dog jump onto my cell and INSTANTLY checked it out - then cancelled it.

Why would you return a VF large cent that you paid $5.10 for? It is a $30 coin if it really is VF!

Lol. I never actually paid for the coin. The transaction was cancelled by my request. Large cents are not part of my collection at all. I collect canadian errors mostly.

Last year I somehow bid on and won a 1782 Bohemia Gröschl that I could only chalk up to a pocket bid. I think it was on my watch list for "market research purposes" and at some point one afternoon I was notified of being the winner. Thankfully the bid was only about $7 and it fit into my collection, so I welcomed it into the family anyways.
