Looks good. I'll probably end up buying a couple sets each year. Keep one in the OGP and break up the other one. Well that's assuming some sort of case is eventually made that will hold each individual coin in a capsule. I have one that was made for the Presidential dollars. I'm sure someone will come up with something for this new series.

Quote:This ebay listing seems to show the packaging -- looks like a regular proof set (cardboard box and plastic shell), except there's only one coin. Too bad the actual coin isn't going to look like the first couple of pics in this listing. Would have looked nice in silver.

Still cracks me up how some folks will buy something on ebay for 2x the price they can get direct from the Mint.

Quote: That packaging is great in my opinion. It reminds me of the silver proof Ikes and GSA Morgans- all that "casing" for one coin. I'm really surprised it has this sort of packaging for a $6.95 coin. I know, I know. They're still making money.

I'm only interested in putting together one set so I bought one proof from a seller on ebay that I've dealt with before for $10.95 with free shipping. He has 25 to sell, so I guess his cost per coin is low enough for him to make a profit. I figured if I bought it from the mint it would cost me $11.90 with shipping, so I saved a little, he made a buck or two, and we're all happy.

So yes you save a little but as for the seller, I figure after fees and shipping he might barely break even if not lose a little. Is there discount pricing for volume buyers from the mint?

I agree. That'd be a tough way to make a living.

But he makes up for it in volume.

Quote: I'm really surprised it has this sort of packaging for a $6.95 coin. Actually, I am not. After seeing how easily they changed from five quarters to six in 2009 and from four dollars to three in 2016, I now realize that packaging supports flexible configurations. I am not sure who their source is, but evidently they are willing to work with the Mint to maintain those annual high volume orders.

Received mine today. The proof coin is really nice. Will probably buy a couple more when the NASA coin is released next month.

Got mine today, and I like the proof. I am not sure if I will open the P&D rolls.

Quote: This seems...good? Only time will tell. It's not a limited mintage coin and could easily be sold throughout all of 2019.

Quote: Sales figures for the proof, posted this morning: 42,877 That's a lot more than I would have expected. Being so late in the year I figured less than 10k the first week. I'm guessing the less than expected price may have helped. It was fun passing out some of the coins from the roll I got. A lot of "Oh wow, this is so cool" comments.
