I was thinking of buying this and almost pulled the trigger... but didn't. Kind of regretting it now. Sold for $380. What are your thoughts on the toning? Is it original or AT? And your thoughts on the grade? TPG in 48. Thanks. I don't think it's AT but it is unusual to have toned to that extent on both sides.

Natural tone. If this made a 62, that's about as high as I can see.
Beautiful regardless, but if you are putting a Morgan set together this would be a stand out, which is not necessarily a recommendation. Unless you are putting a toned set together. With the stupid high prices on toned Morgan's right now, that would be a very expensive option.
If you just liked this coin the price was high but "normal" for this type of double side tone.

I have an 1888 O Morgan with similar toning that was in an OGH, more of the reverse colors (pink, red, orange) graded 64. I sent it in to PCGS and it upgraded to 65. Even my dealer was like the toning appeared natural but some graders think sometimes AT. This appears natural and somewhat attractive to me, although I prefer crescent rainbow colors like red, green, blue etc. still a nice coin with a weak strike ms 63

My guess is MS 63. It's a better date Morgan, but you can get spectacular toned common dates for less than $200.

Nice toning. Mustve sat in some sort of holder that toned it like that. Uncommon type of toning for it to happen like that. Solid MS-62 IMO
