I didn't say the coin was struck with EDS dies.  Just explained what EDS stands for. T-Bop may be around later. Frankly, I don't know enough to spot expert Indian Head cent recoloring and doctoring.

The color does not match the surfaces -- roughness in the fields, the rims are chewed up in places. This is not a late die state coin so it is not attributable to worn dies.
There is a reason this particular coin is raw -- I would imagine that if it were sent to PCGS or NGC it would come back Unc Details / Questionable Color.
Stay far, far away from this one IMO.

I don't think we're getting anywhere with this coin . can someone who's close to Rick Snow ask him to evaluate this IHC ? I know he's basically the expert on IHC Varieties , but I'm sure he's experienced enough to tell if this is trash or treasure .

Has a seemingly endless supply of these "Gem BU" coins in cardboard flips. I agree they look doctored, too good to be true, go buy a slabbed coin for the same price. They look professionally polished, every coin has the exact same gold color. UNC cents tone all sorts of different shades of colors and this is not a realistic scenario. Collectors continue to get played by this stuff.

The evidence points to altered coin. A very deceptive coin that fooled some of us old timers as well.
