Hard to believe that you can still find this old a coin in such nice condition in a penny jar!

Nice find. It's always a happy surprise to find an oldie in such good shape.

Good eye - I guess AU-58, not much value, but a great find.

Nice. I bet Badthad would like to see that one. I wonder if a dip in Verdi-Care would be recommended? John1

Thank you everyone:) John what is Verdi-Care? It sounds like some sort of cleaner. I thought cleaning coins was a big no no.

Verdi-Care is made by Badthad and is a coin conserving product not a cleaner, per say. You may want to PM Badthad about it. John1

John- Thank you for the information. I'll look into Verdi-Care.

It might remove the toning. I would leave it alone. Keep it safe in a 2X2 to keep anymore contamination from happening to it.

Nice pick up! if it were mine I would also leave it be exactly as is just as Coop recommended, it looks great with that toning!

COOP and Chase007 thank you for the advice. I actually placed in in an air-tite. It may be overkill for this coin but I like the way it looks. Thanks again.

I agree, don't "clean" it at least until you hear from BT. I only mentioned it because it has a hazy look to it and the spots on the obverse. The toning looks nice. John1
