The modern coins became worthless in and of them selves and when they mint 100 billion coins they will never be scarce. Less than a 100 years ago the Mint had runs of less than one million coins that were meant for circulation. Report this Post to the Staff

I only collect by type usually, so I don't need each and every date (thank goodness!) Most are actually in AU state, so not "really" bullion, but I also have a bunch of "junk silver" ones as well. No idea how many at this point, and I'm not in the mood to go to the bank and dig them out to photograph them, sorry. In addition to those, however, I do have a small number of "special" Morgan dollars that I have picked up over the years. This one is the first Morgan dollar I bought as a "special" coin (as opposed to bullion) because of the date and the mint mark. I bought it raw and then later had it slabbed: Next is one I bought as a birthday present for myself. Nothing special about the date, but I wanted another CC mint mark and really wanted a certified DMPL example: Finally, I bought this one a couple of years ago after I inherited a little money from my father's estate.
