Hey, This is a coin that's quite rare. What are your thoughts? It is straight graded.

Unsatisfing condition but nevertheless an important heritage coin that must be preserved.

What would you pay for a coin like this? I have a offer to buy the coin but wondering what would be fair (and a good deal for me)

Not sure how it straight-graded with the major gouges on the reverse. That being said -- this is a coin that trades on numismatic rarity and historical significance. As such, its value lies therein, more so than in its grade. Your only reliable yardstick to measure a reasonable price would be to see if you can locate previous auction sales of examples in similar condition, and then use that as a guide. The number of people who collect the early Half Dimes is a small one; but they are a devoted group, and so, your chances will depend on if anyone's actively looking to enter the market other than yourself.

It's graded PO1. I've been looking for prices but can't find comparables. Does anyone have a grey sheet price or know what it sells for previously?

Larry Briggs has a 1795 LM-8 graded as Fair/Poor listed @ $510.00. Yours is a bit more worn, so I would expect $450-$500 to be reasonable.

I'd say real world value is no more than about 20% of what a G4 coin would be at Greysheet bid.
All the Seller needs is two lowball collectors to get into a bidding war then all bets and estimates are flushed right down the toilet.

Are there grey sheet prices for coins like this?

Only as a type coin, and even then, not below Good.

It should not have straight-graded. It is bent.

I agree it appears bent at 3 o'clock on obverse. I think it got a generous po-1 straight grade, I think the grader graded based on rarity more so than condition, I would look for a better more pleasing low grade example

I agree with this grading PO-1, but this definitely looks like a Details coin, regardless of what the grading company said.

I ended picking it up for low 300s, it's a rare coin that I otherwise can't afford and it is another type coin added

PO-1. At that grade I'm not sure "details" would matter much.
