That is not an error. Its a vise job, where someone pressed two coins together.

Welcome to CCF. I agree with the others that someone squished another coin against yours in order to create this image. You could certainly save this coin, but it only has a value of five cents.

I have seen a hundred of these "vise job" coins posted here but I do have a question.

Is there ever a possibility that another minted nickel could find itself between another struck nickel still in the die area and have the same effect as a vice?

The tip off on all these so-called "faked error vise jobs" is that the secondary design seen on top of the original nickel is in reverse.
