What's left of epluribus is MD, but not sure about a grease filled strike. The circular wear pattern bothers me...that's a lot more wear down than a strike. Looks to be concentric circular wear on both sides in similar manner. There is extreme die flow BT the rims are intact and higher than normal for a Greaser. This was ground/filed down somehow, spinning machine of some sort, how about the edge, still reeded? PMD somehow...?

It looks suspicious to me, too. It just doesn't look right for random grease-filling and looks more consistent with intentional damage. I agree with MD on PLURIB.

I think it is a genuine grease filled strike coupled with some extreme die wear. the full rim makes me believe this is the case. With heavy greasers its not uncommon to see the grease collect along the outer parts of the devices first, so I'm not surprised that the outer letters are the first to go. This coin also exhibits a really faint "greasy ghost" of the reverse onto the obverse.

Looks like a major Struck Through Grease to me. You should put it in an Air-Tite holder. Coins are not printed so it is not misprinted. Coins are minted. John1

Thank you all so much for your help. I am not sure if it was a Greaser or intentional. I am a waitress and check all my change. It looked cool so I think I will hold on to it! I cannot thank you enough

Crazy, the edges are still reeded. The closer I look at it, the circular wear is different. You can see parts of the wording on back, just not all of it. Some America etc. If you look at 4th pic down you will see. I do think its a Greaser.

Definitely a grease filed die, but the doubling is not MD. Look at the fields close to were if fades into the grease areas and you can see the die is severely worn with heavy flowlining. I believe this is an example of Die Deterioration Doubling.

A very nice find. Appears to be a major Grease Fill, for sure. Congratulations.
