I picked up a 1587 6 pence today and cannot seem to find any info on this date anywhere. Does anyone know anything about this coin.

I will upload pics as soon as I figure out how to upload pics since photobucket links are no longer allowed for some reason.

Nothing unusual. All Elizabeth I sixpences are dated, and 1587 is one of the years they were struck for circulation. Value very much depends on condition so once you've worked out how to upload photos we'll be able to give you an estimate of its worth.

I just looked at mine (I only have one Queen Elizabeth coin) its a sixpence 1587 26mm listed in Spinks as reference S2578A
