I hope I'm posting this in the right place :)

Collected as a kid (1970s and early 80s) but could never afford anything of any real value. I would look at the pictures of all these amazing treasures that exist in the world and dream of owning them all :) Meanwhile I pestered every bank teller and every convenience store worker in a 2 mile radius. I was searching for wheatbacks...the rarest ones to fill in the unadulterated holes in my book. Never found any of those rare ones that's for sure :)

Anyway I picked it up ten years ago or maybe a bit more...when silver was at 8-9 bucks and just went nuts on ebay. Was a good time to buy and I finally got all those beautiful coins I always dreamed about :) Full sets of pretty much every type since late 19th century. I didn't care much about condition. Just wanted to fill every circle!

I got my 1909 S VDB and 14-D and 1909 S and a 1916 D Mercury dime etc etc. What a great feeling for that little kid inside :)

I got out of it again and sold off the high price items (mostly the ones I just mentioned) but have a TON of stuff left fortunately and have the bug again. I'm trying to put together an AU/BU set of lincolns now (so much nicer when they are shiny!)

Also amazed at the degree in which people study errors nowadays. Man I wiish I had those variations to look for as a kid. I only had the couple of double dies to dream about :) Imagine searching for close AMs and wide AMs and doubled ears and extra trees on 10 year old quarters. Wow these kids got it made. I was searching in 78 and couldn't find a silver dime!

Thanks for having a place like this! My wife is sure sick of hearing about it!

Jason
