Looking at this note obviously looks like a $100 bill. From the modern coin mart. Can someone tell me what I'm actually looking at? Is it from the bureau of engraving? If not who makes it? ebay item number 382163135724

It is a bill made from silver, so not technically usable money

Who makes it? Not the US government?

As it states the US federal reserve makes it for commemorative purposes.

5 grams of silver for $20+. Even for a currency collection, I couldn't bite.
Sure to be at an estate auction near you soon!

It's cool enough looking, I guess... but... if it has no face value and only $2.50(ish) worth of silver.... that's a big pass.

Just to be clear, it is not made by the Federal Reserve. It is made by a private company. Shame on PMG for slabbing this.

The grading services are stooping lower and lower when they slab this crap.
Anything for a buck!

I agree with most, and will add that I've seen PMG holders with 1957 and 1957A $1 Silver Certificates with a generic grade of Uncirculated (no actual numbered grade) which I believe they encapsulate for HSN or some other company.
