I don't know if I did this right. But I'm looking for any information anyone can give me regarding the value of this coin. No ridges around the outside edge of the coin.

to the family!

Hey, nice off-set struck quarter! Is a true off set because is on both sides same distance, not just a one sided MAD. Put in a 2x2!

As to value, it is a "Struck outside of collar" offset strike, worth @ $5 since it is less than 10% off set. Check ebay for going rates, hope your not into the error coins just for profit tho.

Mark, I'll simplify...was hoping your desire was to learn about the error coins you get, not just to make a buck on them. This is a very interesting field of study, if you choose to pursue it...but winning the coin lottery is a bit overblown. If you're willing to learn, here is the place!

I am fascinated. I got this quarter from a machine at a laundromat. I am always checking my quarters every week. I just dont want my wife or kids to pop this one into a Gumball Machine or washer.

I already feel I won the lottery finding something like this. #128402;

I would be thrilled to find a quarter like that. Nice off-center strike.

If you don't have coin collecting supplies (yet) just put this nice little goodie in an envelope with a note "off-center strike; small premium value" and then hide it.

More information of this type of error here: http://www.error-ref.com/?s=off...+strike

Enjoy!

If reeding is not present on the edge then a possible Broadstrike. Thanks, Doug.

Broadstrike
Coin struck without a collar, thus when the coin is struck the metal is allowed to expand and increase in diameter. May be centered or uncentered, but must not have any missing lettering or design detail.

Uncentered broadstrike, not an off-center. To be an off-center part of the design needs to be missing.
