I was unable to attend this year, having just moved from Montreal to BC. Terrible timing, I know.

Did anyone get to the show? Anyone care to share their experience?

I was there, but only for the bourse. There did not appear to be many bargains.

The auction, I thought, was weaker than the one last year.

One of my best RCNA's so far.

Caught up with a lot of friends who traveled from as far away as Nevada and Minnesota and Massachusetts to attend. (that I knew of)

Some great deals were made by the above travellers and myself....

Important meetings and knowledge shared for all who attended,.. and a great banquet at the end..

So for myself, it was a very positive experience again..and I can't wait for next years RCNA in Toronto..

Awesome. Care to share any fun acquisitions or some of the best material you saw? What meetings did you attend?

This years RCNA included a reception on the Thursday evening for the " Canadian Association for Numismatic Education " (CAFNE).
Donations were offered by many and a very kind US contributor who also attended offered to match each Canadian dollar with $2 US dollars. It doesn't get any better than that.

Many US patrons were also in attendance at this reception again this year.

I thought it was a very good show. There was some terrific stuff on the bourse. Holding the show in Quebec brought several dealers to the bourse that do not normally set up at the RCNA conventions in other provinces. I bought two coins on the bourse that I will post at a later date.

I thought the auction was weak in decimal, but otherwise okay. I think the auctioneers instead included quite a few French colonial pieces, hoping they would sell well in Quebec. Those results seemed mixed. The highlight of the auction was the Pittman 1921 half dollar which sold for $180,000 plus the juice.

As always, it was terrific catching up with old friends.
