I recently inherited a portion of my grandfather's coin collection. I have a few Dansco albums, and some loose/carded coins. I am interested in learning what kind of value these may bring. First, here are some of my Lincoln cents key dates. 1914 D 1914 D back of coin I am only missing the 1909-S V.D.B. from that album. I am happy to post more pictures or answer questions. Thank you in advance!

If that 1914 D is a G4, it is worth ~$200
When you say that you are missing ONLY the 1909 S VDB, does that mean that you have the 1922 No-D?

Quote: If that 1914 D is a G4, it is worth ~$200 Heck with being G-4, I'm wondering about the placement/shape of the mint mark. Date is worn but the "D" shines through OK - the "D" is in much better shape than the date!! Pardon my "shines through" statement!!

to the forum! The 14D is a key date in good shape. If the others key dates are in ythat condition or better you have a very nice set indeed! Upwards of $1500 worth. By looking at the reverse it is NOT "THE" 22D, it has the "weak" reverse, t is considered to be a 1922D "weak or no D", worth considerably less than a "no D". Nonetheless, in F grade.

Nice to inherit family coins. I hope you develop a interest in collecting. Not wanting to sound negative, but would like to be honest. I would suspect both coins to be altered. The 1922 does not have the die markers for a 1922 No D or the markers for a a weak or missing D. The 1914 D, the mint mark looks odd and would need a expert opinion or submission to a TPG.

@greenflannel, first welcome to CCF. Second, while I'm sorry for the loss of your grandfather, it is way cool to get this inheritance. These aren't my area of expertise, but it will be interesting to hear what others say about the two coins you have posted. Also, I wonder if any of the coins are foreign (non-US)?

That 1922 No D cent you posted is not the rare no D Reverse 2. It is considered a weak D, and worth maybe $40.
