New Member From California

Hello, I'm "FirstFrom". Long-time collector, first-time online coin community joiner. I started as a US coin collector, and as of now I've got pretty complete sets of the 20th-century basics (Lincoln, Buffalo, Jefferson, Mercury, Roosevelt, Washington). Not much of a silver dollar guy. Working on a full US Type Set (Dansco 7070 w/o gold), but getting to the point where the holes are a little expensive to fill. Although it does help that my preference is for coins in the F-VF range -- I like a little usage.

My user name reflects my current primary interest, which is a variation on the OFEC pursuit -- I'm trying to get the first coin from every country. Yes, probably sounds a little crazy, but I've made a rule (isn't it fun that we get to make our own rules?) that keeps me from having to steal from museums -- I try to get the first machine-made coin from every country. And of course I've also had to make my own rules around the "what exactly is a country?" issue. And, as if this isn't hard enough, I also have irrational rules about which denomination goes on my want list when a country had multiple ones in their first year (which of course is often the case).

So anyway, looking forward to learning things from all the world coin collectors and experts on this site.
