Does anyone have info on the mint Weight Tolerance of half dollars or know where I can find a table with such? I saw one on here in a thread once but can't seem to locate it again . Any help appreciated . I have a few half dollars that are around 11.05 and 11.08 not sure if it's within tolerance or I have a few lightweights. Again thanks in adavance. |

They should be 11.35 just not sure of the tolerance.

Thank you Doug that was the one I was looking for. I appreciate your help . So mine at just a little underweight not a keeper for the weight. And I bookmarked that thread this time.

That information at the end of that thread for the half dollars was for the silver half dollars 1947 - 1964. The 11.35 weight figure that potbellypub listed is for a clad half dollar. The tolerances are different. Tolerance for a coppernickel clad half is +/- .454 grams so the weight range would be 10.89 grams to 11.79 grams Potbellypub, and others, I'll make the offer again, drop me an email and I'll send you a PDF file of all the Weight Tolerances. |
