This was on the last page of the Whittman album I found at a garage sale today. I believe this is the Small date.

Sorry about the debris on the coin. This is probably the 1st time in over 20 years it has been taken out of the album.

Is this the Small Date?

Thanks!!

The research I have done says the 1960D Sm Date is pretty common, but the Philly Sm Dates are rare. How rare? Enough to be worth a premium?

Awesome!! - You actually Found one - I have been looking forever for the Philly (Denver are common I find those a lot)
Premium - I would say Yes!

Well sort of. It came in an album I picked up at a garage sale yesterday. It came with all the 1960 Sm/Lg Date varieties on the last page. Paid $2.50 for the album.

Thanks. In that case what would this one grade?

Can't help you there (sorry) I know nothing about grading - Coin looks great to me and considering what I usually see - it looks like an AU to me. Other's will help you though.

That's a fine specimen! I've never found a 1960 SD in the wild, but finding one uncirculated in a set for $2.50 is a great deal. I suppose BU specimens go for about what you got the set for, so all the rest are free by that definition.

It might be MS yet. Just have to get rid of the cookie crumbs.
