I just found this coin in a roll of nickels. I couldn't believe it! For being 150 years old it appears to be in really good shape. But I'm not good at all at grading. I would appreciate any and all info you could give me. Thanks in advance!

Congratulations on your find!

I believe this is vf details environmental damage due to corrosion.

Fantastic find in the wild. Second year of the 5c nickel. No rays variety.

A truly amazing find. Congratulations. Grade appears to be VF, details, environmental damage. But that's still pretty spectacular.

I was floored when I put it under the scope! I do appreciate the advice. I looked at the grading scales on the left. I didn't see a "VF". Where would this fall?

aristarchus123; I would believe it was a costumer wrapped roll.I got it from the credit union. I think the roll was about 15-20 cents short, But in the roll I also found a 44 P,and a 47 Canadian 5 cent. Pretty darn good roll if you ask me!

Pretty cool find! Hardly ever find a Buffalo or War Nickel anymore, much less the "V" and definitely a Shield nickel unless the idiot relative dumps a collection...go back and get more!

I hate to ask, But Curious George is getting the better of me. What would a coin like this be worth? No,I have no plans on selling it. Since I'm not a rich man, I plan on giving these coins to my nephews when I pass.

I assume you mean this page? VF is the grade that lies between F and EF which, for some reason, that page does not include.
