The metal flowing across the face of the die erodes these lines and they'll get deeper as the die continues in production. They normally appear in areas which have the greatest amount of metal movement first so they can provide a lot of insight into what happens during the strike. They won't be quite the same on coins from different worn dies because the dies are adjusted a little differently and are used a little differently. There can also be slight variations in metal strenght across the face of a die.
The reverse on that coin is most unusual for the date. It appears a little PL which isn't often seen on the date.
