I'm trying to ID different anomalies in coins. The ear is incomplete. Is this due to a weak die?

Also, while I'm posting, is this post mint or some slight chance of doubling on the lips of this 2000 cent? (Didn't want to waste on another topic)

Hi,
The 1994 shows the results of die polishing, possibly to remove clash marks.

I am not sure what the deal is with the 2000 dated cent.

Thanks,
Bill

Thanks, Bill. So I should just throw them both back in the Coinstar?

Although not worth any kind of premium, I would keep the 1994 as it is a nice example of a coin struck by a die with some details polished off the die.

I keep a reference set, so to speak, so that I can usually post a picture of something if someone has a question about a particular type of anomaly on a coin.

You may want to keep yours as an educational tool for yourself and others.

Since I can't determine what is going on with the 2000 dated cent (although probably nothing) I can't really suggest what would be the best thing to do with it.

Thanks,
Bill

The 2000 coin has a hit on the lip...that's all.
