The coin was minted in Australia.
I think you are referring to the origin of the obverse die which is India.

I need to be educated.
I collect ancients and World coins - that is my excuse, anyway. I haven't specialised in Australian coins for nearly 30 years.

Renniks indicates that all 1920 Pennies were struck in either Sydney or Melbourne. Some have an 'S' above the scroll, some have an 'M' under the scroll, and a few have no mint mark at all.

1a) Is it correct that the working dies were manufactured in either India (presumably Bombay) or London?
1b) Were any dies for 1920 pennies made in Australia?
2a) How are the London and Indian dies identified from each other?
2b) How are Australian made dies for 1920 - 1936 identified?

I presume that the master dies for 1911 - 1936 Pennies were prepared in London.

The term "Indian" refers to where the die type was originally used. Both the "London" and "Indian" masters were made in London with the London made first and used for the years 1911-14, 1919, 1920 (some), 1921 (some), 1922 (most), 1923, 1924 (most) 1925, 1926, 1927 (most) 1928, 1929 (most), 1930 (super rare), 1931 (most) and 1932-36.
The "Indian" master was used to prepare 2 masters, one was sent to India and struck the pennies of 1916-18. A clone of this die (plus about 20 partly finished dies) was sent to Melbourne in 1920 and was used for many of the 1920 dated Indians (with slightly more struck by a cloned die made in Melbourne), many of the 1921 dated Indians, about half the 1922 dated Indians and all the 1924 and 1927 dated Indians. A clone of the other "Indian" was sent and used for a small number of 1920 dated Indians, a decent proportion of the 1921 dated Indians and about half the 1922 dated Indians. The 2nd Indian was also used for all Indians from 1929-36. There were also clones of clones which complicates the matter (and can often be spotted by defects such as fishtail/curved base lettering).
