Hello,

I am trying to research where I might find sites to track stolen gold coins with serial numbers issued by the Numismatic Conservation Association. Can someone provide some search sites for me to provide these numbers to see if they have surfaced anywhere?

you would probably have to be a Collectors Society member to look up those numbers, I know you do for NGC numbers. I don't know what information you would be looking for by the numbers because all it could possibly tell you is the date and grade of the coin. There is nowhere I know of that you can track a serial number because it is used for basic information like I said above, it will not tell you if someone owns the coin in their collection or anything

Yes, and if someone did in fact use serial numbers the coins could easily be removed from them and sold separate.

That is more then likely the case. The coins were probably taken out of the slabs.

ebay, craigslist are good sources to check out what's being offered

Thanks, The numbers I refer to I guess (and I am sorry for being ignorant in this field) are the numbers on the tag of the plastic pouch holding each coin. I am told, that once the coind are removed from this pouch, they are 50% less in value. Sound right? Does anyone know of anyone if the larger dealer outlets track those numbers for authenticity? Thanks for your help.
