Hello everyone,
I have just acquired a bank bag containing $300 in face value of 1965 Canadian nickels. I do know that there is a very rare 1965 large beads variety nickel and was wondering if it would be worth spending the time to go over 6000 nickels, would you do it? Even with 6000 nickels, I doubt I would find the large beads variety. Also, are these bank bags worth a whole lot more than face value?
Thanks in advance!

I would totally go through the 6000 nickels in hope of the LB variety...but thats the OCD in me coming out!
Any photos of the bag and nickels?

The bag itself with the tag is interesting as an historical artifact.

Get busy. If you hit a bag with one there may be more.

At a low mint-state condition, the nickels are probably still face/melt value (8 cents). While you look for the large beads, maybe also look for really high grades. It's unlikely with a bag, but sometimes still happens.

Does the tag say "Bay Temperance"? Isn't the temperance movement anti-booze?

I am _this_ close from removing this thread entirely. The original poster is new, so he get a finger wag... As for the rest of you, a public slap, because you should know the rules here already... Enjoy the item for what it is - and use the CCF search engine, for there are several examples of 5c mint bags here.

I would search it hoping for a clip or error of some sort, and would be happy to have the rare LB, though know it would be nearly impossible. But if there's one in the bag, there may be more.
