This is a different kind of Magicians coin. They would take the coin, put it up to their mouth, and with some slight of hand, bend half of the coin back. It would look like they bit through and ate half of the coin. Then, the trick generally continues for the magician to "spit out" the half of the coin, and release the half that was being held back. I hope I'm making sense.

Maybe that's where the other half is - he forgot to spit it out and accidentally swallowed it

No no!

It is a Magicians coin but not to eat. It is used for the trick where the coin jumps inside a glass bottle. this arrangement allows the coin to fold so it can go through the neck of the bottle.

I have the same thing in 50 pence. Also a 50p of the same date for them to inspect... drove my friends children mad with it.

Nice find. It's worth more than 10p. Search the net for its value. It won't be a lot, but it's got to be more than 10p.

Thank you all for your comments.

one question how do you get the coin back out of the bottle?

or only by breaking the bottle later?

thanks again

Breaking the bottle is the only way I can think of to get the coin back.....you have to let us know if you give it a try.

Give the bottle a shake and the coin folds itself into the neck and you can pull it out. Sometimes it takes more than one shake...

Rest in Peace

Oh, that is a MUCH better suggestion than cleaning up broken glass!
