Buyer wins Sunday night. Monday morning sends me a "request to cancel", however the message was "have you sent the coin". I sent a request for clarification, and after not hearing from him in a day, I sent another one and held the shipment, not knowing if they truely wanted to cancel or if they hit the wrong button. I get back this evening and there are litterally 13 emails from this guy screaming at me to send the coin. He is saying that since he paid right that moment that I should have gotten up in the middle of hte night and shipped it to him; on Sunday night! He does not acknowledge that he hit the wrong button and then threatens me with no communication. Should I have just canceled it? And moved on. Or would ebay have caught it with the subsequent email exchange and dinged me? Honestly, I don't need the abuse from trying to do the right thing. If I had just followed the first email, I would have canceled and his mistake would have caused him the auction. I do find that those customers that scream about shipping way before the first 12 hours are up are usually the worst ones. All of my "lost" package cases were from people who wrote me every day if I had shipped. Well...ok...all three of them in the last 10 years. I have had nothing but problem buyers this month. Anyone else seeing this?

I had that happen to me earlier this year almost the exact same story you just told. Buyer bought something on a Friday, asked to cancel, then changed his mind and was demanding all day Sunday with multiple emails that it should have been shipped already and even got my email from ebay to send them there too. I canceled it then he made a new ebay ID and bought it again. I canceled that as well and ebay was on my side actually. I would cancel it personally, but what you need to do is call ebay and make a complaint that you are being harassed by the buyer from the sheer number of messages ect and you are going to honor his inital request to cancel the sale. They should tell you that's fine and that if he leaves feedback it will be removed. Not really sure what would happen if you don't call ebay first and make the report about that, but this guy sounds like he would be nothing but trouble to deal with and would want him on my blocked list as fast as possible

Grant the "request to cancel" and be done with it. After that, block that user from bidding on your items. There's no need for that mess and you're being jerked around by an idiot. Or, just cancel the sale yourself if there's no other option. It won't hurt you. Good luck! Edit: Here is an example of the stupidity on ebay. Buyer left me positive feedback but... I'm sorry but, that invokes every time I think about it.

Always honor your customers with consideration and respect.
Always live by the code that the customer is always right, even if they are wrong.
Being right is never the position of importance, try to make your customer right.
If all of this fails and you can honestly say you've tried to live by this creed and failed, walk away and forget the incident as quickly as possible.
If you can put it behind you quickly, you have overcome a challenging situation.

Definitely call ebay, if nothing else but to make them aware of the harassment. See what they suggest. Probably cancelling the transaction is best. ebay should back you 100% seeing as the buyer is a whacko. 13 emails = whacko category.

It sounds to me that those buyers were just trying to get their items for free. That's terrible I always try to be a good ebay customer and pay as soon as I can. There's no need to ask the seller if they shipped the item because ebay lets you know that it shipped. People are so inconsiderate.

Sounds like he has his finger on the "Negative" button no matter what you do!

So now he is saying he never sent a request to cancel, and waited three days to send me the first message. I sent him a link showing he is either lying or just real forgetfull.
Now he is saying he still hasn't got it. And put a hold on his account.
Just like I figured he would. Man is obviously looking for a free coin.
The funny thing is he has a lot of feedback, all talking about quick communication. Obviously he is an irritating customer. But I don't see him as a scam artist. Though it IS running the same path.

I typically err on the side of the customer, and sometimes it cost me money. I agree contact ebay customer service for advice before making a decision on how to handle.

Well, this turned out exactly like I thought it would he said he never got it. He asked a number of times for a tracking number. I told him that I sent it out in the middle of the night just to get him out of my hair, and just put stamps on it and sent it. Apparently he cant read, or was setting up a case for ebay. Well, he got his free coin.

If anything, this can be a lesson. As I and others said, you should have cancelled the sale. Don't get overly worried about what ebay may do in that case because, most likely, it will be nothing. No one on ebay can "threaten" anyone with no communication. That's a negative there. I agree that customers should be treated well and respectfully if they behave respectfully. It's obvious that one cannot actually mail something in the middle of the night or on Sunday. You were being badgered by an idiot. Make sure that you block that user from purchasing anything else from you. I hope it wasn't too much of a loss.

You got " Bididioted" by a real smooth " Beauty" here. Two errors . Always honour the request to cancel . ebay sees the first request from the "Bidiot" and will back you all the way . Never ever send untracked items .......you will pay one way or the other.

I buy and sell a LOT on ebay and if there is one thing I've learned NEVER ship without a tracking number. I feel your pain though. I've had some crooked buyers. I had a woman buy a pristine early Mickey Mantle baseball card from me. A few days after I shipped it I get a phone call. It's the buyer (got my number from ebay) she proceeds to tell me I'm going to give her a refund. I told her no. "I'm going to send you back a low grade card and tell ebay I returned the one I bought and they will give me a refund" she was right... They did. The only good thing she left me no feedback.
