I am considering buying, what is the price range on such a coin and does this look genuine from these images? Grade is impossible perhaps from these images but I was thinking it was uncirculated? Thanks for your opinion.

How can you determine if it is even authentic from these photographs? The obverse looks cartoonish to me .... and nearly impossible to read the reverse lettering. Unless you have true expertise in these issues I would stay far away. David

I think these little California gold pieces were a little cartoonish as you say. I agree, but these are the best images I can supply. I will look for another better image of one to compare.

@tng, this is way outside my area of expertise, so I hesitate to say anything, but I wouldn't buy these unless they were slabbed. I have zero confidence in my ability to determine fake vs. real.

I could not find another of this type anywhere on the internet. So I will probably pass on it. Thank you everyone!

Glad I did not buy and did a little research first and some feedback here. Found this in a 2016 Red Book. It is probably a replica/fantasy California fractional item.

Yup, typical bear token, may have trace gold or no gold at all.

My commendation for doing your research first. My very first gold coin was a real California fractional. Followed by three replicas
