I do think there is a strike issue here - I think it makes EF-40. Nice coin.

I like this coin and wish I could afford them this pretty -- I'm going to go with AU50.

Well, the major problem here is it's in your collection and not mine.

O-108, I think, R.3 and known for the center stripes in the shield being soft so that can be somewhat discounted as a grading pickup. A much stronger obverse than reverse, which is understandable since this was, by then, the second use of that reverse. O-107 developed a serious die crack from Star 2, curving through the bust and across the 9, and that die undoubtedly failed prematurely as it can be found sharply-struck with the die crack fully developed.

I have it at EF-45, grading mostly by the obverse.

Agree with EF-45. This is a beautiful coin. What are the horizontal stripes in the middle of the obverse through the first and second stars and the Bust? Is this on the coin or holder? I love the colors!

They look like planchet filing marks to adjust the weight of the planchet to me.

I think 1819 is too late to see adjustment marks.

They could be roller marks. Tough to distinguish.

The mint employed planchet weight and adjustment staff until well after the Civil War. Later in the 19th century, filing took place more often in the edges before reeding was applied.

PCGS called it XF45. Seller wanted a premium for the toning and eye appeal that I thought was fair, but a little more than I wanted to pay.
