I found two 1999 Jeffersons that look DDO. Here are the photos. Thoughts?

Both look like Die Deterioration, not a DDO. Keep looking though!
Rest in Peace

A combination of DDD and MD. Like the others said, Nickels are notorious for this stuff happening. Keep looking though.

TheNickelGuy: Thanks! The pictures were the latest in my experimenting with my Nikon DSLR setup. I used the 18mm-55mm kit lens and tested attaching 2x, 4x, and 10x magnification filters. The photos were from the 10x filter. The coin was not level to the lens which resulted in the upper area being out-of-focus. I also played with the lighting by blocking some of it with my hand. Pretty low tech but seemed to have worked.

With a mintage of 1,212,000,000 it would not be surprising to see a few "worn out" dies like the OP.
