I started going back through my huge pile of nickels and found this one that (to me) looks like Monticello is on fire. Strange (again to me) that the LDS is on the reverse only. Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Looks like more of the issue with die wear making waves there. A lot of coins are struck in the VLDS numbers. On cents here is an aprox. number of strike per die: This die probably was used a lot longer. There are no cracks or other issues. So it may have been used a lot longer striking more nickels. Perhaps 10's of thousands more until an even made it retire.
